2011 Weddings {Update}

It’s a New Year….

As most of you know, I am expecting a baby and will thus be on maternity leave in May and June this year. So far I have had to bow out of 7 may/june weddings. While this is difficult, I must say that my darling baby girl is worth all of it and more.

However, for those of you who are unable to book me for a May-June wedding, please know that I can be available for bridal and engagement sessions before May. AND if you are a bride who isn’t going to be able to have the time on the wedding day for a ton of pictures, you should definitely consider an after shoot. These are my absolute favorite. You basically get dressed up again after the wedding and head out to take some pictures. Super fun, and not stressful, as the big day is OVER. : )

All of this to say, May-June is baby time and then there is the little detail that I am leaving the country in late summer never to return. Just kidding. But my little family will be going to Romania in late July or so for about two months.  And after that trip we will begin plans for moving there permanently. SO yeah. Arkansas portraiture and weddings for this photographer have a small window until the business packs up and moves to Europe.

Times they are a changing…

p.s. enjoy some images from my most recent “after” session : )

Jessica Shae {Just Because}

So over my Christmas vacation I had the opportunity to meet up with my dear friend Jessica Shae Garner. You may remember her as the AMAZING photographer who captured my wedding day. I remember her as a kindred spirit–and of course as my wedding photographer, but hey, we have become good friends–I mean really good friends. We are practically the same person. AND we are just about the same height. AND we both are from large families. And for those of you who think you are from a large family and you have like 3 siblings–think again. I’m not talking big according to our national average of 2.1 children. I have nine siblings and she has six. All this to say–we were destined to be besties. So after polishing off chipotle burritos what did we do but run across a highway towards some beautiful grass–as testified below. Enjoy!

I ADORE winter grass–it’s so soft and feminine…in photographs anyway. In real life it quite viciously desires to devour your socks/leggings/pants–whatever it can reach.  It puts a good face on to be photographed though. And speaking of good faces–look at that girl!

I feel like she could be in Africa here–about to photograph baby giraffes or something.

Jessica you are beautiful inside and out–but more importantly you are a woman who fears the Lord–thanks for letting me take pictures of you. <3
